As part of the Pediatric Child Protection Team the Advanced Practical Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) will be responsible for assisting licensed physicians and performing examinations/diagnosis of organizational clients. Participates as part of the multidisciplinary team and shares and interprets medical data. This position is based in the Clearwater, FL office covering Pinellas County. Job Duties: Provides medical evaluations and consultations for suspected victims of child abuse and neglect, to include physical abuse, sexual abuse, and medical neglect. Ability to perform acute sexual abuse evaluations including genitoanal exam, evidence collection, STI testing, and prophylactic treatment. Provides medical evaluations in the inpatient setting at Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital, as needed Participates in on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend coverage. Provides depositions and court testimony as required. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team including Case Coordinators, Child Protective Investigators (CPI), Law Enforcement, State Attorney Office (SAO) Assists with and Presents trainings in the community (Family Support Services, Department of Children and Families, law enforcement, schools, & community organizations), with professional staff (nursing students, residents, medical students, visiting physicians & guests), and with new organizational personnel Attend and actively participate in all staff development and quality assurance meetings to obtain up to date information on status of program and protocols, as well as obtaining training information relevant to position. Participate in training, orientation, and assessment of new staff as requested; Maintain good working relationships with professionals in the community by maintaining professionalism at all times. Establish and maintain good working relationships with CPT employees and volunteers to further an atmosphere based in teamwork; Maintain excellent professional conduct including but not limited to personal responsibility, ethical behavior, and treating individuals with dignity and respect. Lead by example as a medical professional in the areas of personal responsibility, treating individuals with dignity and respect. Attend annual HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) training, will read and follow the CPT Program Procedures Manual regarding protected health information, and will adhere to all HIPAA requirements; Complete Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training and any updates required to maintain that certification; Other duties as assigned. Masters Degree with APRN or PA licensure in the state of Florida. Additional Qualifications: Experience in pediatrics, gynecology, sexual and physical abuse Experience: Registered Nurse with at least one year of experience in Pediatrics, Midwifery, ER, Womens Health and/or completion of SANE certification Or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse including a clinical rotation in Midwifery, ER, Womens Health.
