The nurse practitioner performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with attending physicians and residents. As an advanced practice nurse, this role involves independent judgment and decision-making as well as consultation and collaboration with other members of the health care team. The NP enhances the continuity of quality patient care; amplifies communication between the physician, family members, and the health care team; and extend the capabilities of the medical care team. If this position is based in a perioperative setting they will be required to perform clinical procedures outlined by the individual department requirements. Overall, this position is critical in leading quality and evidence-based care initiatives that will result in achieving optimal patient outcomes and improved patient satisfaction. Position: Nurse Practitioner, RVU Shift: day shift Experience: 2 years Nurse Practitioner experience preferred A minimum of two years of nursing experience in specific clinical area preferred Education: Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program required MSN required Licensures/Certifications: Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) BLS certification required May require ACLS certification May require PALS (pediatric advanced life support) Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
