Wound Nurse Practitioner Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) with wound care experience to join our growing staff. You will provide wound care patients direct patient care, discussing patient symptoms and concerns and performing thorough examinations to assess their wounds and prescribe medication or create a treatment plan if necessary. When required, you will collaborate with our physicians to treat more advanced wounds. Our ideal candidate has a current state license to practice and at least one year of medical experience treating chronic wounds.Nurse Practitioner Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacilitate new patient consultation and health history reviewPerform physical examinations and screenings of patientsReview and interpret test results to diagnose health problemsRecommend further treatment options or future appointments if neededProvide referrals to other practitioners when necessaryProvide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their familiesEnsure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.Nurse Practitioner Requirements and QualificationsReliable transportation with the ability to travel within a 50-mile radiusCurrent APRN/state nurse practitioner licenseboard certification5+ years of nursing experience1+ years of treating chronic woundsUnderstands HIPAA and OSHA regulationsAble to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and other nursesProficient in EHR medical charting system and computer-based data management programs and information systems
