Reporting to the Director of Psychiatry and Chief Medical Officer, this position will be responsible for maintaining the high quality of medical care provided to all patients of Mercy. Make a difference in your community. What Is This Job All About? Performing psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the full spectrum of psychiatric pathology including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, ADHD, Autism spectrum behaviors, substance use. Collecting information from a variety of sources including family members, therapist, medical provider, specialist, schools, or agencies, as well as psychiatric rating scales, testing, and past records. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests. Providing “On Call” responsibilities on a rotating basis including responding to phone calls in a timely manner and documentation of calls. Providing culturally competent care integrating faith, beliefs, culture, and ethnicity. Managing psychiatric emergencies. Collaborating/consulting with supervising psychiatrist as needed in addition to regularly scheduled supervision times. Collaborating/consulting with primary care providers, specialists, therapists, care coordination, and outside agencies as indicated. Maintaining documentation of mental health services in a timely manner including progress notes, tasks, collaborative discussions, testing and laboratory results, and other required information by the clinic, state, and third-party compliance standards. Participating in Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Care Team Collaboration. Participating in Mercy functions as required by the Psychiatry team or Mercy as a whole. What We Need from You: A Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution with Current Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Minimum of two years clinical experience as a PMHNP is strongly preferred. Tele-health is offered to patients, but this is NOT a remote (work-from-home) position. Current licensure in the State of TN as both a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a current, unrestricted DEA certification. This is a full-time position requiring 4 days a week. Previous work experience in a public health or community clinic setting preferred. Spanish speaking is a plus. Outstanding communication skills.
