Advanced Practice Provider OB/GYN

Job Description: CNM/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Obstetrics & Gynecology) The Advanced Practice Provider will join our Avenues Women’s Health team with clinics in Salt Lake City and Bountiful, Utah. Our team includes seven OB/GYN physicians and five APPs, as well as a comprehensive support staff. We focus on providing high-quality care for the full spectrum of women’s healthcare needs. We specialize in gynecology, obstetrics, infertility treatments, surgical treatments, and more. This APP will work in a close, collaborative partnership primarily with one OBGYN physician. They will provide care in clinic supporting both obstetric and gynecologic patients, and round with postpartum patients and provide ER consults. In clinic, the majority of time will be spent providing annual well-woman visits and seeing new patients, as well as some urgent care and follow up visits. The APP may place IUDs, Nexplanon (if certified), perform colposcopies and other routine in-clinic procedures. There is no OR time anticipated for the APP at this time. Full time and fully benefits-eligible, the APP will work an average of four 10-hour shifts per week. No holidays or weekends currently anticipated, though schedule may update dependent on patient care and department needs. Prior Women’s Health experience will help you be successful in this position. Job Essentials Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as: Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease; Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation; Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems; Education of the patient, patient’s family, clinical staff, and others; Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan; Consultation with other healthcare providers; Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care; Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes. Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization. Minimum Qualifications Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Certified Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant (PA). – and – Certification as a nurse midwife, nurse practitioner, or hysician Assistant. – and – Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V. – and – Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V. – and – BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers. – and – Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
