Job Description: NP/PA Pediatric General Surgery & Trauma Services (Pediatric Trauma) This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join our pediatric surgery and trauma program at Primary Children’s Hospital. Our team supports our main campus located in Salt Lake City, Utah and our newly built campus in Lehi, Utah. The APP works in conjunction with and under the direction of pediatric trauma surgeons to provide level one trauma care to patients experiencing surgical or trauma injuries. Primarily spending time on the unit, OR assisting opportunities are generally for emergent cases only, during night and weekend shifts The APP will work approximately 27 hours per week. Schedule will include four 12 hour shifts (from 0600-1800 or 1800-0600) per biweekly pay period, with the additional six hours available for required training, meetings, documentation, etc. We provide 24/7 team coverage, which does require weekend, nights and holidays shifts to be rotated between team members Primary Childrenxe2x80x99s Hospital is a full-service Trauma 1 Pediatric Center certified by the American College of Surgeons and serving six Intermountain states. The Trauma Service system emphasizes the delivery of expert care, research, education and prevention. A comprehensive benefits package, including relocation, CME reimbursement, and more is available in this position Job Essentials Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as: Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease; Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation; Education of the patient, patient’s family, clinical staff, and others; Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan; Consultation with other healthcare providers; Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care; Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes. Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization. Minimum Qualifications Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA). – and – Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. – and – Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V. – and – Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V. – and – BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers. -and- PALS Certification -and- ATLS Certification (This can be obtained during orientation within the first year) Physical Requirements: Anticipated job posting close date: 06/11/2024 Location: Primary Childrens at Lehi, Primary Childrens Hospital Work City: Salt Lake City Work State: Utah Scheduled Weekly Hours: 27 The hourly range for this position is listed below.
