JOB SUMMARYThe duties of a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, APRN mid-level provider include, but are not limited to, commute to multiple post acute care facilities everyday, making rounds, communicating to patients , facility staff members, providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients. Part time to full time.PRIMARY FUNCTIONSExamine patients and record historyAdhere to proper charting protocolsDiscuss with Physician and other health care professionals to prepare comprehensive planOrder or execute tests or images as neededSubmit health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review by PhysicianAnalyze results of tests, diagnose and report to patientAdminister or prescribe treatment and medicationsPromote health by advising patient on diet, hygiene and prevention of diseaseInoculate and vaccinate as requiredRefer to specialist as required for patient’s well-beingPerform minor surgeryReport deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authoritiesOther responsibilities as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMust have and maintain current State of Florida license in good standingMust be PMHNPCurrent National Board CertificationCurrent DEA Post Acute experience1 year Psychiatric experience preferred ( if not, will train)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESEffective written, verbal and electronic communication skillsShow initiative, creativity and problem-solving abilityAbility to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSPrior experience using an electronic medical records systemBilingual a plus, but not required (English/Spanish)RELATIONSHIP REPORTINGReports to the Supervisory Psychiatric Physician / Executive DirectorPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to communicate effectively with patientsAbility to collaborate with colleagues as necessary to provide quality health careAbility to use a computer, printer and scannerAbility to sit, stand or view a computer screen for extended periods of timeAbility to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of timeAbility to use hands and fingers to handle or feelAbility to reach with hands and arms
